What is the best way to paint on wood paneling?

also almost how much would a 144 sqaure foot room cost to carpet? (just plain carpet)What is the best way to paint on wood paneling?
Painted paneling looks cheesy, but if you must it already has a coat of sealer on it so you can use latex paint. As for the carpet, the price is by square yard, you can get some pretty cheap, maybe as low as $5.00 per yard. Good luckWhat is the best way to paint on wood paneling?
make sure the paneling is clean lst... like TSP... then prime then paint.

as far as carpet goes.. it will depend on the type of carpet u use. The Home Depot etc can tell u if u pick out a carpet.
The cost of carpeting depends on how much you want to spend per sq. ft.

Painting over paneling requires some time to do it right.

You have to fill in the grooves.

Do a websearch on how to paint paneling.
Clean it with TSP (tri-sodium-phosphate) and let dry.

A couple coats of PRIMER! VERY IMPORTANT!

A few coats of whatever color u want, but MORE THAN 1 COAT! dont be lazy!
look it on yahoo
stain the wood paneling. the cost of carpet would depend on the type of carpet..
Most creative way I have used is to sandblast plywood to remove some of the soft wood. Then I've used a color stain to penetrate the wood and rub in a contrasting paint color. It comes out as a very colorful textured finish when done right.
paint thinner
the way to paint paneling that will stick and stay stuck is to first remove the clear coat finish on the panel face cause if you dont you will have paint peeling within a short life span or you can go another route, which is to paint the panels with a primer coat to neutralize the clear coat finish. either way is effective but are about the same as far as the length it takes to prep for the finish paint which i spread with a roller.
