I am trying to remove paint from a wooden porch. I've been heating it up with a heat gun and scraping at it but it is rather difficult and my hands aren't in the best shape. Are there any tricks to getting this done or power tools/attachments for the job?How to remove paint from wood?
You can use gel paint remover. Most hardware stores sell it.
It works great, you brush it on real thick, wait 20 minutes, then scrape off the lifted paint.
There's also an orange-scented version that is milder on the nose. How to remove paint from wood?
Rockwell sonicrafter, fein multimaster or any multi-tool is the best choice for your work. It is handy - best for scrapping.
You can see the video here

lol. assuming its an outside porch. (or you probably wouldnt be removing the paint) ever heard of a pressure washer. they work great.. if you really wanna get down and dirty you could sand blast it. but that would probably take a professional. unless you know what your doing. which i doubt.
The best way in my opinion to remove paint from wood is by sanding it.
Paint stripper, do not sand blast will make a mess of timber. Paint stripper is the easyiest and quickest option.
