I would like to know the best way to remove old red paint from wood mouldings?

My daughter painted her bedroom walls red and got paint all over the wood trim. I'm ready to repaint the room but don't want to have to replace all the trim, can someone make a suggestion?I would like to know the best way to remove old red paint from wood mouldings?
if you are painting a different color over it, then just sand a bit to scratch the surface, then prime it. if you want to keep the wood look, then use paint remover to strip it. then use fine grit sand paper, then make sure the surface is clean and dry. then use varnish.
