paint remover from hardware store
You can either use a chemical sold at hardware stores, paint it on, wait till it softens the paint and then scrape it off (carefull not to get the chemical on your skin..wear gloves and goggles to protect your eyes) or you can use a heat gun to burn off the old paint..the heat will soften the paint and then you use a scraper to scrape it off while it's soft (carefull not to burn yourself).
CHEMICAL PAINT REMOVER WORKS BEST. THERE IS NO EASY WAY.
Watch out for lead! Don't sand and get lead dust all over.
