How do I paint a wood dresser?

Or can I just prime it and paint?? I would have to strip it and then sand and then paint right?? I really dont know. I have a brown wood dresser and I want to paint it white. How do I paint a wood dresser?
You can use Kilz primer but first check the dresser for any bubbles in the original finish. anything that may flake off after painting. Scrape those areas clean then prime. DO NOT sand or strip if you are just gonna paint it. the original finish will protect it from getting damaged by the moisture in the paint. How do I paint a wood dresser?
use a primer, called kilzs, [kills] then paint it white.
If you want your paint job to last I would lightly sand it or use a deglosser so that the primer will hold better. Also use an oil based primer (latex primer will not hold well) then you can paint with either oil or latex. Oil based paint will hold up better than latex. It is all up to you and your preferences.
I would lightly sand it just remove any small imperfection dust it off and use two coats of kilz(this is a stain blocker) lightly sand again dust off and put on final coat, it will look great.
