You know, like the cheap furniture from Target or Walmart. I have a ';maple'; TV stand and I would rather it be dark brown. Can you sand and paint wood composite with a laminate finish?
There are special paints for it but cost a little more. I would just use a med grade paint though because it is cheap furniture!First lightly sand it, dust it off and lightly paint, probably spray paint, and a second coat and after they are dry put a spray polycoat (gloss, satin, or semi gloss?)on it to protect the paint. Make sure to let it dry for several days before sitting sharp edged items on it or they will scratch it.Before you start you should use carpenter's glue or just plain elmers where the pieces are joined to make it sturdier and tighten all screws. Cheap fruniture tends to loosen up pretty quickly and if you take the time now it will last much longer. Have fun!Can you sand and paint wood composite with a laminate finish?
You can, but don't expect the result to be perfect or even very long-lasting. After sanding just enough to roughen up the surface, paint with a water-based paint. Other paints may react with the plastic coating.
nope. it's usually just particle board with a layer of plastic on top of it.
No- it has a very thin veneer on it-
yes you can actually. you dont have to sand it at all. but a primer is needed. I worked briefly in the paint dept at Home Depot and I know its been done. Just go there and ask those guys they will set ya up
