that's a tricky one since nearly any substance that is guaranteed to remove the decal will also remove the paint. If the sticker is is paper based, and this can be true even if it plastic coated then you can keep soaking it in water and the paper will component will soften and many time this allow the decal to lift off of the paint without damaging it. If the paint is latex based there are chemicals that will disolve the adhesive without harming the paint.How do you remove a decal from painted wood without ruining the paint?
