Would u paint wood oak floor white ?

if not, why not?

i want to make it look romantic.

i am board with natural look of wood that most people have on floor, isnt it just boaring?Would u paint wood oak floor white ?
no you'll regret it!! what about a nice rug or carpet over the flooring?Would u paint wood oak floor white ?
NOOOOOO!!!! i just moved into a house and the ppl in there before me painted one of the floors white, it looks awful, the cracks inbetween are all dark n it just looks disgusting (previous owner was blind so she didnt see what her fool of a son had done) try and find some cool vinyl tiles or summat anything but painting the floor white...
I personally wouldn't!! If you were gonna do it you would have to sand them down and then paint, but if your bored why don't you just invest in a couple of rugs and then when you've had enough you can just remove them. It would be a shame to spoil such a lovely floor.
never, you would rather walk on paint?

buy an area rug or have it carpeted so you can always go back to the wood floor if need be

I believe in small steps generally, why not do like the one questioner and asphalt your living room rather than deal with the care of a wood floor
no- cos there's no point paying for oak if you're going to paint it white... may as well buy a cheaper alternative since you're going to cover it in white....

reason, plain simple- waste of money to get oak and paint it white!
no way you will so regret it i hate it when people have a good wood and paint it why not try putting a big rug down also it would look terrible
not really, because i like the natural look myself. I suppose it depends if its the living room, dining room, bedroom... if your going to that, get a good paint, not one that easily chips as that wouldnt look too good.
try it if you don't like it then you can take it off
Have it sanded back to clean wood and varnish it. Go out and price up a solid oak floor, you will be horrified at the price. Never paint a hardwood.
sand it down and stain it dont paint
no reason not to except, it will make the room feel cold, you'll see the dust %26amp; dead skin cells easier, is it really romantic,( see imagine by mr j lennon ) but more importantly if you dont like it it wil lbe a nightmare to get it off! its up to you
rather than paint it white, I would white wash it....gives a very soft beautiful look!!

Good luck!

ask home depot
it 'wood' be a shame. (sorry) I'm sure it already is romantic. try different accessories instead.
NOOOOOOOO never do that looks ok but when it scratches looks awful mess shows every bit and mark NEVER DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!
you'r off you'r head!
Only if it was in the bathroom.
NO

You will reduce the value of your property and you will hate the paint after a few weeks. It will scratch and look tired in a short time.

Wood is never boring and never goes out of style.
You will take away one of the attractions of your home should you ever plan to sell it.

If you never plan to sell it and don't care if people think you are dumb... paint it what ever color you like.

Natural wood floors are a big attraction to home buyers, and look far better than scuffed white paint.
noooooooooooooooo

give it a dark stain and then varnish it
buy a white rug, never paint wood
You could try limewaxing it.You open up the grain with a hard brush and then wax it with the lime paste.Looks quite nice.Readily available in paint shops and doesn't chip like paint.
yes i think i would.. as long as it was in a paint that could easily be sanded back down to wood if need be...
Not NO but Hell No what is wrong with you ? did you forget your meds this morning and no its not boring at all and trust me painting the floor wont help your sex life try candles and sweet talk if that fails just drop to your knees and please
i wouldn't paint it white, oak wood is beautiful just the way it is
I think you would ruin the floor. Buy yourself a new rug, and if you get fed up with that in time, you can get another one. If you paint the floor white you may not like it, then you are stuck with it.
Would totally agree with Misty Blue about the Lime waxing and is much less work than sanding and varnishing. Trust me I know, it is an awful job and very time consuming.
No. It will ruin it.
i like natural wood . and you well get more for your home if you leave it . put round rug down to cover some if the foor . but if you do color the floor, use a white stainon it not paint.
there is plenty of white wood effect Laminate flooring on the market.A few years from now you could be bored with that too then all you do is rip it up and your back to your natural wood!!
Aaargh sacrilege
